Chinese Import Policies effect on States
New Jersey
The Association of New Jersey Recyclers (ANJR) members were surveyed and Waste Dive was suprised by limited responses. 1 county intermediate processing facility had had Chinese inspectors inside on a regular basis to root out imperfect bales. Some reports suggest facilities slowing down lines and adding labor for increased quality. Future Plans will be focused on reducing contamination.
New York
Environmental Conservation Official has concern, but no company or local goverment has ceased recollection. The department continues to focus on quality control and reducing contamination. Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency has begun enforcing tighter contamination standards, with financial penalties for haulers.
